Engagement models

Four ways to work with us. One way to start.

Pick the shape that fits today — and change it as you grow. Every engagement begins with the same two-week, fixed-fee discovery.

Step one, always

Two-week discovery, fixed fee

We map your systems, risks and priorities, and hand back a costed roadmap you keep either way.

  • Systems inventory
  • Risk register
  • Costed, prioritized roadmap
Start with discovery

The four models

6–26 weeks

Fixed-scope project

Best for: A defined outcome — a new app, a platform rebuild, a migration.

After discovery, each phase is quoted at a fixed price with written acceptance criteria. You see working software every two weeks.

  • Named delivery lead
  • Demos every two weeks
  • Acceptance testing
  • Runbooks and handover

Billing: Fixed fee per phase, invoiced at agreed milestones.

6 months+

Dedicated team

Best for: An ongoing roadmap that needs more capacity than you can hire.

A named team of 2–8 engineers works to your backlog, in your tools, with a daily overlap on US Eastern mornings.

  • The same people on your account
  • Delivery management included
  • Vetted replacements within two weeks
  • Monthly delivery report

Billing: Monthly, based on team size and seniority. Adjust the team month to month.

Ongoing

Managed services

Best for: Platforms, devices and people that need to keep running.

Monitoring, patching, support and security alert triage under written response targets, with a named engineer.

  • Service-level agreement
  • 24/7 monitoring
  • Monthly service report
  • Quarterly roadmap review

Billing: Fixed monthly retainer, sized to scope and response times. Reviewed every quarter.

2 weeks – ongoing

Fractional CTO & advisory

Best for: Companies without a senior technology leader — or needing a second opinion.

A principal joins your leadership rhythm: roadmap, architecture, vendor choices and hiring, with independent advice.

  • Technology roadmap
  • Architecture and vendor reviews
  • Board-ready updates
  • Hiring and team design

Billing: Monthly retainer for a set number of days, or a fixed-fee technology audit.

Find your fit

Which model suits you?

Two questions. It's a starting point — we'll confirm it together in discovery.

What do you need most right now?
Do you have a senior technology leader in-house?

Answer both questions to see a recommendation.

Straight answers on money.

The practical questions finance teams ask before signing.

Ask us something else

01Do you publish prices?

Every engagement is priced after discovery, once the scope is clear — so the number you get is one we can stand behind. Discovery itself is a fixed fee agreed before we start, billed in USD.

02Can we switch models later?

Yes. Many clients start with a fixed-scope project and move to a dedicated team or managed services after launch, with the same people.

03How long do we commit for?

Projects are committed one phase at a time. Team and retainer terms are agreed during discovery, and we don't lock clients into long contracts.

04What happens if priorities change mid-project?

We re-plan openly. Changes to a fixed-scope phase are estimated before any work starts, and you decide whether to swap, add or defer.

Next step

Not sure where to start? Start with a discovery.

A two-week, fixed-fee discovery. You get a written findings document and a costed roadmap — and you keep it whether or not you work with us.
